As the Director of Human Resources, Mrs. Karlene Parris is responsible for executing strategies to improve VYBO’s policies and standards, recruit and train to facilitate outstanding employees, and ensure smooth operations for all divisions. She oversees technical writing, department budgets, employee mobilization, proofing, vetting employee process, and scheduling. Karlene leadership skills actively cultivates a successful, yet, rewarding work culture with a competitive advantage in the workforce. Not only does she address concerns and challenges, she removes redundancies. Karlene is a problem solver. She builds trust to break down barriers to establish interpersonal professional relationships.
As a people person, it is her personal goal to know her employees and what motivates them to increase productivity. She implemented a personnel performance tracker that assists with promotion and personal progression. She strives to uphold the VYBO culture by instilling transparency, honesty, as well as effectiveness and efficiency in workplace. Dedication, attention to detail, and consistency permits Karlene to take delight in providing excellence to the VYBO team.
Before joining VYBO, Karlene served 20 years in the U.S. Army as a Senior Human Resources Supervisor. She was responsible for maintaining accurate accountability reporting for over 500 soldiers and successfully achieved one of the first passing mailroom inspections in the Division. She has trained over 80 personnel on Sexual Harassment and Response Program and provided recommendations on matters including discipline, reassignment, and promotion incentive awards.
Her hobbies are spending time with her family, cooking, and long walks.
